Overview

Oil analysis is an exceptional tool. It can peer inside a machinery and spotlight a developing problem. Changes in the operation of a machine are reflected in the properties and makeup of its lubricating oil. Scheduled analysis of lubricants identifies problems before they cost you money. The chance of machinery burnout, system failures, and unscheduled maintenance can be greatly reduced by a combination of scheduled analysis and regular tear down inspections.

The analysis of lubricants for the purpose of detecting faults, abnormal wear patterns and maintenance is a critical practice in oil & gas industry. Water and dust are two common contaminants that drastically increase wear rates and shorten machine life.

Machineries in the oil & gas industry are extremely expensive so it will be important to maximize the machines’ lifespan and minimize their downtime. Production and profits will then be maximized in this way. In short, it is to monitor the health of the machineries.
