He is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer, with 30 years experience in the oil and gas industry. He has worked as a consultant for many projects in the North Sea, Australia, USA & Brunei for companies such as BP, SOHIO, AMOCO, Brunei Shell, Sante Fe , Ranger Oil and many more.
His HPHT experience includes having designed HPHT wells, as well as conducting training and providing well control engineering support on HPHT projects for major oil and gas companies. He was the SDE on the world's first HPHT 20,000 psi well in the N. Sea in the 1990's and has substantial N.Sea and Arctic, as well as SE Asia/Australasia experience.
He also specialises in well control support/risk management, Well Integrity Management, complex well design including HPHT, complex well recovery operations, HPHT rig capability audit and more. He has shared his extensive knowledge via several SPE Paper Summaries and was the SPE Forum Co-Chair 2004 for “Completions 2007 & Beyond” He was also closely involved in the design of the world's first ERD/Snake Wells with Smart Completions in Brunei.
