Workshop Facilitator Profile

The course facilitator is the founder and Managing Director of a consulting firm on risk, crisis and business continuity management with offices in Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Belgium, The Netherlands, Italy, Singapore, and the United States. With over 20 years’ experience in risk and crisis management, corporate and public affairs, she is recognized as a leader in her profession and acknowledged for her ability to provide customized, results-driven counsel at the highest level. She is fluent in French, English, Spanish, and Mandarin, and holds a BA degree in Chinese Studies and a BSc degree in International Relations.  Having lived in Asia for over 15 years, she is very familiar with the region’s cultural and business environment. Over the years, she has counseled clients in Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand, China, Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. She continues to service her long-term clients throughout Asia through frequent travel to the region together with her Hong Kong and Singapore-based colleagues.

In the field of risk and crisis management, she has advised senior corporate executives in high-risk industries internationally. Her multi-disciplinary background and experience has enabled her to provide clients with an in-depth analysis of their crisis management capability as well as help them develop effective risk and crisis response organizations and stakeholder and reputation management strategies. In Asia, she designed many of the crisis management processes and documentation used by leading western multinationals today.  Over the years, she has been directly involved in helping clients manage crises in the oil and gas, aviation, tobacco and consumer product sectors.
She is regularly invited to speak at international conferences and seminars on risk, crisis management, and communication. As part of her company’s affiliation with the European Academy of Crisis Management and the Crisis Research Center of Leiden University in the Netherlands, she has lectured at a course on institutional crises at the graduate school of public administration of Leiden University. She has been a member and served on the board of the Hong Kong and Belgium Chapters of The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) since 1987 and has spoken at several of its international and European conferences.
