Workshop Overview

The outbreak of the current financial crisis has proved that how important a sound and upgrade operation risk management (ORM) system is for the bank and financial institutions. To secure sustainable business development and enhance profitability and structural strength, financial institutions need to make sure their operation risks management (ORM) is the best not only in compliance with Basel II but as a value added proposition.

This intensive two-day training course will cover the most important topics in ORM today and provides the attendees with comprehensive methodologies of how to effectively implement operation risks management within their institutions. Upon completion of the session, attendees will gain a thorough understanding of the key ORM components practiced by the best run financial institutions followed by a range of special topics covering all concerned practical issues that will be addressed using real life examples and case studies.

Workshop Facilitator Profile

The Trainer is currently Managing Director of a Risk Advisory Consultancy Company based in Europe. In that capacity, he is responsible for risk management advice for financial institutions ranging from specific investigations to full scale risk management set up. His current assignments are in Asia and Europe.

Prior to setting up his own company, the trainer worked for ABN AMRO ( now RBS) for 11 years in various capacities. Latest, he was responsible for Global Operational Risk Review, a new discipline that was then developed. Previously, he was responsible for the Operational Risk Advisory team, covering 15 banks in Asia, Middle East, Europe and South America with a team of 14 people. That work was founded in his earlier work on Compliance, ORM and AMA development within ABN AMRO Globally.
