Workshop Overview

Poor alarm management results in billions of dollars lost every year to accidents, equipment damage, unplanned plant or unit outages, off-spec production, regulatory fines and huge intangible costs related to environmental and safety infractions. Thus, it is important for process plants to implement an effective alarm system management strategy to protect the company from any incidents as well as production loss.
Though Alarm System Management solutions and guidelines have long been prepared and documented, they have not been well understood and practiced by most of the plants in the regulatory industry. This workshop is therefore, specifically designed to provide process plants in the region with better understandings and applications of alarm system management guidelines so as  to bring about a safer workplace for their people and increase their profits from improving operational integrity and productivity.
In addition, this customized 3-day course will provide participants with a comprehensive knowledge of current best practices in understanding, implementation, and operation of process control alarm systems for industrial plants and pipelines.  Extensive use is made of group-based class exercises to expand upon the concepts and provide a practical feel to the material. Current state-of-the-art tools for alarm assessments are demonstrated and their use is also explained. The practical approach will guarantee each delegate to acquire valuable insights on up-to-date alarm designs, tools and techniques in order to ensure the delegates the ability to plan, participate and manage the best-practice alarm management initiatives.
