The trainer is a Principal at Jason Consultants Ltd, part of the Pure Technologies Group where he specializes in projects concerned with all aspects of pipeline replacement and rehabilitation. He has practiced in this area for more than twenty five years; involved in research and development, licensing and technology transfer, liner manufacturing and installation for the market leader, Insituform Technologies Inc. in the field of cured in place pipe since 1987 and as a consultant on a wider range of renovation and pipe replacement methods since 2002. His development team at ITI pioneered pull in and inflate methods, light curing, controlled head inversion pressure equipment, pressure pipe lining materials and methods and procedures for large diameter installations. He has had substantial involvement in the establishment of test method, specifications and standards for CIPP. Educated at The University of Bath in the United Kingdom the trainer has travelled extensively working in Europe, North America and particularly Asia and brings a global perspective on experience with CIPP (cured-in-place pipe) and other rehabilitation systems.
The trainer has worked in the pipeline business for more than 35 years, initially involved in the development of jacking pipe and confined trench construction methods he contributed to the Institution of Civil Engineer’s Conference “Restoration of Sewerage Systems” in 1981, participated in the first No Dig Conference “Trenchless Construction for Utilities” in 1985 and was amongst the first members of the International Society for Trenchless Technology. In 1992 he was awarded the Kurose Prize by the Japan Microtunnelling Association for commitment to technology transfer in the field of Trenchless technology. He has served as UKSTT Chairman 1999- 2001, ISTT Vice Chairman 2005-2007 and is the current ISTT Chairman. He served a member of the Pipeline Industries Guild Utilities Panel and the CIWEM (Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management) Editorial Board.
