Facilitator’s Profile
He is the ESP Specialist and Senior Production Technologist in Petroleum Development Oman (PDO). PDO is a world leader in implementing ESP practices efficiently and optimally, and over 40% of their net oil is produced by means of ESPs.
He has over 30 years of versatile experience in the oil industry and has been heavily involved in the varied oil operations in the Middle East and Canada. He has worked in wells in an Omani Field in 2006, he reduced deferment to nil, restored 3500 m3/d oil, saved $2.0 million and scored 3 Shukran Awards. He has also enhanced ESP runlife/production in five Omani Field wells by 400 m3/day.
He has increased runlife by 30% on 150 ESP installations, improved response time to troubleshooting which resulting in a 50% reduction of production deferment. He was the project leader for the innovative project on dump water flooding with ESP and major contributor to Shell’s project on world’s first Wireline Retrievable ESP (WRESP).

He is a Certified Professional Engineer by APEGGA – Alberta and Member of Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) USA. He also holds a B.Sc in Petroleum Engineering (Distinction & Silver Medallist).
