Facilitator Profile

The trainer is an international specialist in “profit maximization” through “Creative Debt Management”. The Principal of his own consulting firm and an international expert, the trainer is an engaging speaker and presenter and has developed and led very highly rated programs and consulted with clients across North America, Bahamas, China, Ghana, India, Jamaica, Kuwait and Malaysia. He has worked as a bill collector (consumer and commercial), credit fraud investigator, collection manager, credit manager and an internal as well as external consultant. He spends much of his time with senior management teams assisting them to apply effective collection strategies in their businesses.

He has authored three highly rated books on collections and numerous other articles on the subject of Accounts Receivable. A highly-qualified speaker and trainer, he is the past-president of the Toronto Chapter of CAPS (Canadian Association of Professional Speakers).

Half day workshop facilitator’s profile: Advanced and creative management strategies

The trainer has more than 20 years of practical experiences in the areas of sales & marketing, credit management, debt collection and credit insurance. He has worked with various organizations including Le Meridien Hotel, Transnational Group of Companies, Vikay Industrial Ltd, Dun & Bradstreet Corporation and Credinet Singapore now known as Coface Credit Mgt. Services, to name but a few. His previous career also includes employment with Credit Information and Debt Collection Agencies which provide credit reports, debt collection services including legal pursuits to recover debts all over the world. He was also Commercial Manager for a diversified Indonesian Group business interests in Singapore and S.E. A. region –PT Bank Buana, PT Rodamas, PT Tato’s interests in optical and stationary products in manufacturing, distribution and retailing. He was in charge of sales, marketing and credit management functions.

His work experiences expands even into the area of credit insurance coverage for companies to insure their most valuable current assets –the trade receivables and to use this credit enhancement and mitigation tool as collateral for financing arrangements with Financial Institutions as well as expansion of sales without unnecessary risks.

He is currently Assistant Vice President in a global professional services firm with annual revenues of US$12 billion. MMC is the world’s leading risk and insurance services firm; other businesses of MMC includes Oliver Wyman, Mercer Consulting, a major global provider of HR consulting services and Kroll, in Corporate advisory, restructuring, investigation, financial intelligence, identify fraud solution services. Approximately 60,000 employees provide analysis, advice and transactional capabilities to clients in over 100 countries.

He has served for 15 years on the Board of Management of the Singapore Association of Credit Management (SACM). Formerly the Association’s Hon. Secretary and Hon. Treasurer, he is still serving as an active council member SACM’s Board of Management and its Training & Education Chairman. A very hands-on, practical trainer, he has conducted numerous credit and collection seminars and conferences in the Southeast Asian regions.

He is a law graduate from Queen Mary College, University of London. He has been involved in conducting numerous training programs including Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) for their Continuous Professional Development courses nationwide; The Bar Council, KL Bar Committee, Pahang Bar Committee, The Johor Bar Committee and also Asia Pacific Diligence.

He is very well-exposed in Commercial Litigation. He is also a contributor to the Malaysian Court Forms and the Advisory Editor for the Companies Winding Up Handbook, a contributor to the Hasbury’s Law of Malaysia Vol.6 on Companies.
